The purpose of this online NM Tree Steward Training Program is to train community volunteers to be effective educators in urban forestry. The information provided is current and science based and presented by knowledgeable arborists and other experienced tree people. Each tree specialist will be sharing their present understanding through personal and professional observations as they relate to trees growing in an urban setting. As you work to complete this training, we will work with you to identify local support for utilizing your growing skills as a volunteer steward. NM Tree Steward Certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the program, and you will be welcomed into a statewide community of individuals who also love and work to care for trees in their communities.
